180-gram double-LP set cut at 45 RPM — mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound from the original analog mono tapes, pressed at Quality Record Pressings

Recorded in December 1950, Masterpieces by Ellington was among the first albums to use the new long-playing format to capture full, uncut concert-length arrangements of Duke Ellington's signature works. Spreading four extended pieces across two 45 RPM LPs gives the orchestra room to breathe, revealing remarkable detail in the horns, Duke's piano and Wendell Marshall's bass.
